Chocolate Soy Ice Cream with Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker

Now you can enjoy ice cream whether you’re vegan or lactose intolerant with Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. Compared to its dairy based counterparts, soy ice creams are healthier. It has zero cholesterol and low in fat, making it perfect for those on a diet. It also has calcium so those with lactose intolerance don’t miss out on their daily dose of calcium. And your kids can enjoy this delectable recipe too.

All you need are: 2 pints of silk soymilk creamer, a quarter cup of brown sugar, a quarter cup of granulated sugar, half a cup of cocoa powder, half a cup of Hersheys Chocolate Syrup and 1 ¼ tsp. vanilla extract. Mix all ingredients first in a medium sized bowl before pouring in the chilling chamber of the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. Set the machine to your desired consistency or texture (you can refer to the manual for more information). Wait for 20-30 minutes before serving (if you want soft served) or transfer in individual popsicle molds for your kids. Just freeze them overnight before serving. You can add nuts, chocolate chips and marshmallows 2-3 minutes before it’s done to turn the chocolate soy ice cream to rocky road.

You can also make different other flavors of soy ice cream with the Cuisinart ice cream maker. The trick there is to use soy milk, or soy milk creamer instead of whole milk. You can also try rice cream instead of soy milk. Remember never freeze your ice cream in your chilling chamber. Always transfer the ice cream in another container before placing them in the freezer.
