How to Build Open Kitchen Shelving

1) Measure first the length of wall that will hold the open kitchen shelving. Decide whether it’s a floating shelve or just a regular shelve with visible support.

2) Find the position where the shelves will go using a stud finder. Mark this location down by putting an X mark using a pencil.

3) After this, you can head to the store and purchase the materials for the open kitchen shelving as well as the support for its bracket and the decoration to be added. Wood is a very popular choice for this project. Woods are very durable, in addition to this it lets you finish the shelve project in a variety of ways.

4) Using a power driller and a screw, position the bracket on top of the X mark. After this, use a 4-feet level for added security and to level it with the next bracket. If you are using a drywall, insert a drywall anchor first before screwing. Tug on the bracket to make sure it won’t fall off and secure before placing the next one.

5) Put a shelf on top of the brackets, and adjust it until you are satisfied with its position. Double check its position and make sure that the shelf is level, use screws and a power drill to attach the shelf to the bracket. Measure the thickness of the kitchen shelving and make sure the screws are not visible from the top.

6) Repeat this process until all of the kitchen shelves are properly installed and then you’re done.
