Asthma is considered as a chronic health disorder which attacks the human respiratory system. This is a health condition which is very common in any part of the world. Generally, this health disorder is classified into two types, namely: intrinsic and extrinsic asthma. There are some instances when you might think that you have asthma but the truth is you really do not have it. You see there are some symptoms of other respiratory illness which may be similar with asthma. Because of this, it is extremely important to be familiar with asthma as a form of illness and its symptoms. This is necessary so as to prevent the affliction and to get the right cure for it.
Between the two asthma types, it is the extrinsic asthma which is very common to people. Basically, this type of asthma initially occurs during the childhood years. This is mainly because children are most vulnerable to some allergic reactions. In most instances, the allergies among children are attributable to certain causes such as eczema and hay fever. Sometimes asthma is attributable to family history. If your parent has asthma, there is a greater possibility that you will also have asthma. But there is nothing to worry about because this health disorder may vanish as you grow up.
Asthma symptoms usually range from mild to severe. But it depends on how your body reacts to the allergens. Most people with asthma are also susceptible to other forms of allergic reactions such as eczema. For this reason, you need to understand that people who are suffering from repeated cases of common cold, coughing and sneeze have higher risk of being afflicted with asthma. This occurs due to the weakening of the respiratory tract, thereby making a person more vulnerable to allergies as well as infections.
